hi Guys ,

i m trying to retrofit the LCI headlight front and tail on my 2004 ( built 12/2003) 530D, now after reading countless topics and forums here is the parts needed

1 x Retrofit Cable Set [ 61 12 0 432 110 ] OK

2 x AHL Headlights OK
- Left [ 63 12 7 177 749 ] US
- Right [ 63 12 7 177 750 ] US

2 x Taillights OK
- Left [ 63 21 7 177 281 ] EU
- Right [ 63 21 7 177 282 ] EU

1 x Light Module [ 61 35 9 154 944 ] this one is not available i m trying to find a replacement
(Needed for cars before 9/2006)

2 x Xenon Bulbs D1S w/ Ignition Element [ 63 21 7 162 862 ] OK
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005)

2 x Lamp Holders "ring clips" [ 63 11 7 162 087 ] OK
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005--to hold xenon bulb in housing)

2 x Control Unit Xenon Light "ballast" [ 63 12 6 937 223 ] OK
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005--for D1S Xenon bulb)

2 x Electronics box ALC (uncoded) [ 63 12 7 189 312 ] OK
(adaptive light control, "motor/actuator")

then reprogram @ the dealer

but my question is since i m using the latest version of the BMW LCI update install

they say for the front headlight i need to

Cars with SA 522 (BiXenon) only.
On the left headlight, disconnect X13420, 8-pin, SW, and
X10608, 4-pin, SW, from the standard wiring harness.
Fit seals N to P and socket contacts Q and R onto the cable
ends and connect to socket casing S as follows:
? GR/GN to pin 1
? BR to pin 2
? GE/GN to pin 3
? BR to pin 4
? BL to pin 5
? WS/GN to pin 6
? GE/SW to pin 7
? GE/RT to pin 8
? GE/BR to pin 9
? BL/RT to pin 10
? BL/BR to pin 11
? BL/GN to pin 12

but will that apply for my ( 12/2003 car?)
i heard that there is a mistake on PIN 6 and this one made after 5 minutes of use the headlight to burn , well i m lost on this part if someone can help please maybe BenAnd or else
thanks

BenAnd maybe the guy for pre 2005 built cars, but some others on the fourm may also provide info like R9andy,Blastiwi,Bruce Miranda, BrabusAMG there all good resource for this retrofit. I need some info also too cause i also have an 12/2003 built car Mostly would be the wiring of the headlights to the LCM and the tailights.

i wonder if there is a way to make a plug and play adapter for this like Bruce's LCI tailight cable kit..
did Bruce ever work on this? just curious

Hey john, I heard the pre-2005 built cars you would have to change the wiring just a tad bit. Do you know anything about that or a PDF of the changed wire diagram for the pre-2005 built cars?

hi guys , ok the installation was done yesterday

since i had AHL i used this wiring

Cars with SA 524 (AHL) only.
On the left headlight, disconnect X13420, 8-pin, SW, and
X10608, 4-pin, SW, from the standard wiring harness.
Fit seals N to P and socket contacts Q and R onto the cable
ends and connect to socket casing S as follows:
? GR/GN to pin 1
? BR to pin 2
? GE/GN to pin 3
? BR to pin 4
? BL to pin 5
? WS/GN to pin 6
? GE/SW to pin 7
? Pin 8 unassigned
? SW/GN to pin 9
? SW/BL in pin 10
? BR to pin 11
? BL/GN to pin 12

i did use my friend LCM 61359192642 that was already programmed @ the dealer for his car for new AHL but i didnt program it for my car so now everything works but NO ADAPDATIVE HEADLIGHT is it normal ?
or should i program it @ the dealer for my car to make it work or is it a mistake on the wiring since everything light up and i have no error on my idrive ?
thanks for your reply .

I heard that the only LCM that will work is the Part# 61359154944, so i'm assuming thats why your Adaptive headlight dont work properly or it can be the AHL module not programmed. Do you have a blinking light switch? If you do that can be due to headlight error causing your adaptive headlight to not work. Come on Brabus a little help please or anyone.

According to John, you have to have the car programmed at the dealer, even if the lcm was already programmed.

That's because you still need to program the AHL module. It's uncoded.

As long as there's no error messages and no blinking light on the left, I would leave it. Adaptive lights isnt all that special. U can sell the AHL modules.

Wouldnt that leave an error not having the AHL module and that annoying blinking on the light switch or even a error on dash?
