Retrofit garage "buttoms"

Hi !
We have a garage door at my dad's office, and he has a remote control to the garage door.... But I've seen BMW cars (E60) with the garage door opener in the mirror inside the car..

Found this at realoem, $23 only!! If I order the part, is it easy to install the buttoms, or do I need a new mirror ? We have the autodimming mirror in the car, but we would really like the garage door opener function.
Has anyone here installed this kit ?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the $23 retrofit kit that you refer to is only the wiring to connect to the car. The remote control garage door opener is the complete mirror with the buttons already in it...$530 on the realoem page that you list.

Rearview Mirror with Universal Transceiver, PN 51 16 7 028 444, $360 (THis is the same three button unit that comes standard on my 6er)
Same with Compass, PN 51 16 0 304 488, $475
It does list a retrofit kit (required for install) but only for the mirror with compass.
Plus you may get a discount if BMWCCA member or look at one of the big BMW dealers that sells online, like Circle, Princeton, Crevier, etc.
