unfortunately I didn't have time to wait around for a button (order online and wait a few days) when I wanted to get everything done in one day. Besides, its works and looks fine for me.

And Radio shack is a great place, What other electronic store that you know has all this stuff in NYC and has mutiple locations?
Luckily, we already have this button from OEM

I have it OEM already too, but the button that BMW has doesn't function the same way I needed to. The button is a momentary push on switch button. Also I would have to take apart the BMW panel and might damage the oem panel with other functions. So pretty I took the easy way out.

I think if I had a private garage and didn't need to use the car, then i would have been able to make something just like OEM. Unless someone finds a button with a LED that matches the square shape, and I definitely would be interested. Also the round button is easier to create a whole with a drill than a Square button cutting it out.

Is this only possible with m5 mirrors or is this possible with the oem non m5 mirrors also?

If you have Euro Non M5 folding mirrors, then yes, it can work. Our US Non-M5 mirrors doesn't have folding to begin with so you would need mirrors that fold, regardless if they are M5 or Non-M5.

Also to everyone that wants to do this. You have to make sure your M5 mirrors have the motor inside. This is my second set of M5 mirrors. I tried to retrofit the fold a while back but couldn't due to BMW and their BS non-programming standard for US cars. There are two wires, a yellow and white one. If you take apart the housing of the M5 mirror, you can inspect it to see if you have the option available. If you have that, then you'll be able to enable folding options on your M5 mirrors.

WOW...great job! Shame that you couldn't use the existing 'dummy' button but it still looks awesome!
