If you cannot get BMW to program your car to use that button then you are not going to be able to use the OEM button very easily. It is possible and I've done it and am helping someone else to use the OEM button for this DIY. But it involved a lot of hacking of the PCB in the switch panel and you have to break the tracks and solder on new wires to get an external ground signal. You could add another switch in the same OEM position and probably even use the OEM button for that switch as well.
The OEM switch panel is not individual switches any more but you get all the outputs over a LIN BUS so its not exactly straightforward. However I too am expecting a DIY to be put up my Mike so that it helps everyone else.

Mike, this is a nice one for sure!
Should've gotten some girl to press the button while you film from the front tho ![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)
Do you have to have a car that has power-folding mirrors to begin with though?

As for the LED Button.. only reason is because I couldn't find one in radio shack that looked as small and nice as this.

Why that additional button?
No retrofit then, but another way to fold..?

I'll try to put a DIY. Its tough. I dont want to take apart the car again.. but I definitely can explain to everyone how I did it.
I also was able to get the mirror power by not going to the Mirror itself. It found the correct color and routed the wires to the innoparts easily. I believe its because I have a Pre 09/2005.
The longest part of the project was to route the wires right from the glove compartment to the middle console to the doors. OMG it was a bitch and my hands are killing me. At one point I almost gave up. Snaking 4 wires into drivers side door (two for the mirror power, and one ground and one for the switch) is a pain.
