I am thinking to getting replica m166 wheels, since OEMs are way over my budget.
But before I get it, I need you guys opinions!!
The one I am looking for is brand name Vortex.
Have you guys heard about this brand or currently have on your cars?
And are 245/40/19 and 275/40/19 will be fine on these wheels? No rubbing issues?
Btw my car is 05 545i.
Let me get a lesson guys!

If I'm not wrong, the correct sizes would be 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. I think 275/40 on rear would rub hard.
Of course these things depend on offsets (ET numbers). Learn about m166 wheels with M6 offsets. They sit very nice with 5er.

Not sure that I am a fan of the Replica 166's, the Miro brand 167's are pretty sweet and pretty close to the real thing. Also I've heard that ABI makes a pretty good replica 166, but I think you can only get them in Europe, I dont think Ive seen them in the US.

+1 on the 35 series in the rear, 40's will rub from what Ive heard.

Thanks guys.
But how about 235/35/19 with 275/30/19?
And what about 255/40/19 with 275/30/19?
Does it have to be 245/35/19 on the front?

I am not sure it positively HAS to be 245/35 in the front, but keep in mind the sizes above not only are they less popular (which means more expensive and less selection) but if you went with say 235 you are going with a skinner tire which means less wheel protection. You might be able to go 255 wide, but then you may need to step the series down to say a 30 to compensate for the width. I think the fronts are more

Also check out this posting about the wheels when you have a sec.

Yeah I'm thinking about getting them from the same people,What I did was ask a couple of the the guys that brought it from him. They said they are happy with the finish and no vibrations. So I figure for the price u can't complain. My only complaint is that it doesn't come 8.5 and 9.5 . I called tire rack and they recm'd 255's and 285's in the rear.

I had 275/40 in the rear as temporary.... (both ofcourse) and they didn't rub... but they didn't look good either..

Now i have 305/30 in the rear and 275/35 in the front..

Don't do it. I can't tell you the number of members over the years that did replica 166's, only to get vibrations that never went away. They ended up buying OEM shortly thereafter and ended up wasting an additional $1000.
