Researched this changeover for months. All wood trim was replaced with brushed aluminum at dealership. Hated that BMW forced me to have wood trim with my grey interior. Hated Anthracite though. Now interior has the 'techno' look I wanted a year ago. Contemplated plating with metal, painting and overlays. Went with factory provided finish.

IMHO the maple wood looks great compared to the std aluminium trim, however I prefer the poplar woods. But each to his own preference. Thank god BMW give choices.
I would have thought your dealer could have offered another customer free anthracite (maple) wood and when the car arrived swopped over with you just paying the labour charge.

Didn't know if console cd trim was available. Will look into that. Parts were ordered 4 months ago but came in dribbles.
At this moment I can't figure out from the bill what it cost because parts were prepaid and then adjusted. Crude estimate is $1400 for parts and labor. Upper trim would be easy to change, but door handles and center console require expertise and tools.
They call color brushed silver.
Thanks for comments.![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

Very nice indeed! Too bad BMW NA doesn't offer the brushed aluminum kit like it does in my old e46 M3.
