I have searched a lot of threads, and it seems like most of you don't have cd changers in the glove compartment. well, I have one, and I would like to replace it with the ipod. I also gathered that it is more often than not, a simple remove and replace with some kind of interface, most bus interface or something like that. I am not talking about fm modulators or dension's kit, oem please.

basically, I have a changer, and I want the iopod in place of it. what do I need to do?

More info such as your location and the model year of your car would be helpful, but yes, you should be able to replace the 6 disc changer with the BMW iPod adapter that goes in the glove box. It is integrated with the iDrive so the dealer may have to upgrade your software, which is part of the process. Don't think you cann simply buy the part, remove the cd changer and plug in the iPod adapter. I have the changer in my glove box and will be switching to the iPod adapter soon, just have not ordered part and made appointment yet, but will soon...
