I know that there are alot of members here who have acheived this already. My car came debadged already, was wondering how others go about this safely? My friend wants to remove his badge and leave the car blank any advice would be much appreciated thanks

Nothing like a debadged BMW to make the fools in their Mustangs want to race us.

I usually use a heat gun to soften up the adhessive on the back of the badge and then use some fishing line to remove the badge. Works quite well and looks good for that stealth look.

Some people say a hair dryer works quite well.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm going to enjoy the prestige right now of having the '545' on my trunk and debadge her about a month before the 550 launches.

I did the following with great results :
1. Heat the badge with a hairdryer
2. Use dental floss to cut behind each number of the badge in-turn.
3. Used Wd40 to remove all the sticky gunk
4. Really good wash down and rinse
5. Apply a good coating of wax.
I did this on a 1yo car, no marks whatsoever.
