Well I was installing my new roundels tonight. And I got the front one on, but I was having the hardest time removing the rear one. I was using a credit card under the roundel and a small flathead. Well I was applying alot of force and I ended up hitting right about the roundel with the screw driver and it scratched below the paint. Theres about a 1 inch scratch that is very noticeable to me. So I'm wondering how can I get rid of this? Is there touchup paint I could use?? I don't want to make it worse. Worth using some scratch removal service? I don't know what to do.
Alot of this will depend on whether or not the scratch got down to the paint or if you only scratched the clear coat. If this scratch is only in the clear coat, the 1st and easiest thing to do is go ahead and clean the area, then use a rubbing compound to polish out the scratch. If that doesnt take the scratch out, you can actuaully get a little more agressive before you run to the body shop. You can actually WET sand the scratch with 1500 grit sand paper, them move up to 2000 grit for the final finish. Whether you wet sand or use rubbing compound your gonna have to rewax the area afterwards.

All in all you are looking about 30 minutes of your labor and $20 worth of parts.

If it is not too deep then so detailing work should fix it.

oh phil.. hope you get it out.. i almost did that when i put my roundels on.. fortunately i had a teeny tiny thin towel underneath where id need the leverage to pop the roundel off.. the trunk was so much harder cause you just couldnt get any leverage.. anyways.. do what iceyt's said..lol
