In my diesel 525d and 530d the Sprint Booster was a must have IMHO all year round, simply because the engine does not react as quickly at very low revs and means you can minimise the wheel spin from a standing start.
However with my new petrol 550i I am having real traction problems in these wet/snow conditions... yes, I know, it sound like a bit of a now brainer that combination
After taking the Sprint Booster out yesterday, its become much easier to control / minimise the wheel spin. Its only a 1-minute install, so as soon as it gets dry again the SB will be fitted again ![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)
Anyone else taken their Sprint Booster out due to the slippery weather conditions.
( ps. obviously I am seriously struggling not to floor it the whole time with my new toy, so that maybe could have something to do with the traction problems

I left mine on, but my car is also a manual gear box so if I slip I just put it in second gear.

I am running winter tyres, so it sounds like my right foot is the problem here!
That said, everyone is struggling with the snow and ice-rain here, so I should probably just let the DSC do its job and fit the sprint booster again -- I do miss the enhanced throttle response, especially in the city.

I got the velocity throttle controller, so I just turn it down a notch or two.

I didn't remove my SB but even with dedicated snows, you really have to have a very light throttle tip in with the 550 or the rear end wants to start rotating. In the snow, when starting out, I touch my car's gas pedal as if there was a egg between my foot and the pedal. This is a direct result of the 550's gobs of low end torque.
