I just bought a 2008 E60 from a friend of mine it's in great shape with a hundred thousand miles I have other cars with remote starts and I'm very happy with them in the dead of winter
I searched on the form about remote starts and most of the threads seem pretty old to me.
just wondering what people have learned are they glad they did a remote start and which product would you recommend.
Thanks,
Obie

Obie, you have an 11-year-old car. Were the threads that old? And what did most tell you? The consensus is that due to the complex electronics on the E60, it just isn't worth the aggravation of trying to install an aftermarket remote starter on these vehicles.

The post's I found she we could be early on like 2005-2008 2011 I just thought the technology may have improved it would be helpful.
The reason I was heading toward remote start since because this car does not have the heated steering wheel that my previous 528i had I really like that heated steering wheel in the dead of winter. and as I started to look into converting I found that remote start would be an option.
I certainly don't want to mess up the electronics in this car because they are complicated enough as it is.
Thank you for your input I guess I'll just let sleeping dogs lie

I know this threads old. But, there's supposedly several "plug & play" options to install remote start on a E60. For example,
