Hi guys, as the winter season is fast approaching and the need to warm up the car by stepping outside in frigid temperatures seem like a total drag. I was wondering if BMW offers remote start? if so, what is the cost? Thanks.

Not sure if there is an OEM one, but I know you can get some aftermarket ones. Check out Code Alarm or Viper. Personally, I wouldnt mess with the OEM one though.

I've been looking for an aftermarket one since I purchased the car. Every place that I've been to has told me that there isn't one made for the BMW as of yet. If someone knows different, I'd also like to know.

BMW does not offer remote start... There is a new unit just released from Directed which will allow bmw with push button to have a remote starter installed on the car

I think this is what you are looking for.
Seems interesting might want to do it as well. I'm also in the NYC and it's been getting kind of brisk really quick.
