Hello all,

Although this is my 1st post here, I have been reading this forum for over a year now and must say it's a great place for anything BMW related.

I own a FEB2006 E61 520d Msport and as the topic says, should I remap or not. Normally the car is just fine, but I went and installed M5 rims and tyres which did hurt the performance some what. Please don't flame me yet as I know this topic has been covered alot, and believe me, I have done several searches and found valuble information regarding this.

What I haven't found though is any discussions regarding the transmission and clutch and flywheel. My car is a stickshift and now I'm getting contradicting information regarding the durability of these parts. Some people say that the clutch will start slipping due to the added torque (as I read about some remapped VW's and Audis) some people say the flywheel is a bi-metal product and might break others say the tranny won't cope. The consensus seems to be that as long as you stay under the 200hp and 400NM mark you should be OK. Any feedback regarding these comments would be highly appreciated.

Anyone know how much the Hamann and Schnitzer programs put out? They don't give out the figures for the 2 litre on thei web pages.

Sorry for the long post.
