WHAT DO YOU THINK? HAVE U SEEN ANY ON THE ROAD? DOES IT LOOK GOOD?
|
I have only seen it on BMW's web site. I am really interested to see more pictures if anyone has some.
|
Does anyone have a small spoiler like the M on the E60?
|
I wiill like a small spoiler too. When I returned my 330Ci back to BMWFS I took the soiler out and try it in my 530i. The spoiler didi not look that bad, th only thing it was too small in lenght. I wonder if the E39 M5 spoiler will fit.. <_<
I think the AC schintzer is a bit too big for my taste and the factory one is fugly :D Does anyone have an M5 spoiler laying around there and will like to try :P pictures please |
Don Juan
Is the spoiler you tried just like the one on the E39 M5. Just smaller. If that is the case then The M5 E39 will probably fit the E60. |
I think after market spoilers are ugly. But then again, I think almost all exterior after market parts do. I do not even like after market wheels, personally.
I think the factory OEM E60 spoiler looks great in pics. I have thought about getting one myself. I just wish I could see one in person. |

What I call fugly :D http://e60.doit.wisc.edu/images/oem/oem-Images/3.jpg |

In case you have only seen that crappy BMW picture (it doesn't do the spoiler any justice IMO), here are a few other shots: OEM Tuned E60 |
JohanDC, Sorry, I did not mean to trash nor insult your car or your spoiler. I saw the other pictures and still personally don't like it.
That spoiler is a bit too sporty, something that you may find in small sport car. I think the 5 series is a more upscale and refined car. ( The same goes to the rear lights). I guess to each to its own ;) |
Don Juan, no offence taken here! I justed wanted to say that I, at first, didn't like that spoiler too! But seeying it IRL change my opinion, that's why I said don't judge it too quickly.
btw, those pictures are not of my car at all. It was just one of the cars that were present on the parking lot at BMW Belgium. My E60 arrives in 4 weeks. |
hmm...I don't like the spoiler. Just my taste.
The crystal tail lights worst. It really make the car looks cheap. |
sg520i, as I said before, before seeying both the spoiler/tail lights in the flesh I also thought that they were but ugly, but after seeying them in the flesh I am a whole new man. :D j/k

 I agree with the dissenters....the OEM spoiler sucks! And I have seen it on an actual 525.
I say...wait, just wait...for the Alpina spoiler. They do not make spoilers to match their own rear aprons like ACS, Hartge etc. In fact they usually do not make a full body kit. They will produce a full-sized yet classy looking lip-spoiler that will flow well with the E60's lines. You'll see... Just my two cents... R.R. |
Save your money on the spoiler and put it towards more options for your car.
If your looking to be unique, spend a bit more and get some rims or a M5 front spoiler/bumper when they become available. |

As long as the E60M5 front bumper will fit (I'm concerned about the front wheel arches being bulged out) a stock 545i, I think I will probably get one for my 545. It totally improves the look of the front end. I wonder what the typical cost is of an OEM bumper/front spoiler? I would need to get one that included the headlight washers, but not the PDC. -MrB |
It's all subjective, really. Again, I personally like the OEM spoiler.
But yet I agree that the car is upscale and refined. So that's actually why I like it. It's not a huge wing like you may see on a rice rocket or other pimped out ride. But again, that's also a reason why I don't like after market rims. Sure, people spend thousands of dollards on them, but I also associate that "look" with pimped out cars. So since it's all subjective, we all just need to go with what looks best to us. Guess it's a no brainer that way. |

To give you an idea, the AC Schnitzer front bumper is in that same price range. Does the M5's fender flare out more? I didn't notice, I'll take another look. |
