My Ride: Soon to be 2006 530xi Silver on gray. Premium, Premium Sound, Sports(lite), Cold Weather pkgs, Navi

I have a '06 530xi. I also have a 116lbs lab-dane and a 60lb pit-bull mix .

Does anybody have any experience with car seat covers for the back seats to keep them clean from dog drool and hair?

The Touring model would suit you and your fine dog best.

BMW does sell a custom-fit one that works great. I'm actually still using the one from my E39, which fits more or less. It's not cheap though. i haven't tried to cram 180lbs of dog back there though. i've had an 80lb rottie and a 40lb mix in there at the same time and it was pandemonium back there- and they weren't fighting.

Dogs in the car?? I really don't see that happening! Besides that's what the X5 is for!

I bought this when we drove down to North Carolina with our Bulldog in the backseat. It works perfect.

I purchased the "Universal Protective Rear Cover" made by BMW, and I have to say its worked out great. It was expensive when compared to some of the other options mentioned above; but in my opinion, having the cover fit perfectly over the rear seats has been worth the money.

Its pretty easy to set up and take down, I haven't had any drool or hair issues yet, and so far its been pretty durable. I don't have a large dog myself, but I have had a 60 lb dog in the back without any problems.
