I'm a relative newbie. Can someone explain to me the difference in the OEM M Lip Spoilers, the ACS type and some of the others out there? I know the look is slightly different, how much difference is there in the quality of the product? I'm tempted to just order it from the dealer parts catalog, is there a better route to go?

Appreciate any thoughts
Thanks

You can think of an original ACS Part as equal to OEM in terms of quality and construction. ACS is one of the top tuners out there and is known for their impeccable quality, fit and finish. There is a price that follows that reputation but you should not be worried about an authentic ACS part.

With that said, we have both the authentic and replica versions of the the OEM and ACS spoilers that are identical in terms of fit and finish. We have had a chance to mock them up side by side and never had a complaint about fitment problems or quality control. They are also significantly more affordable than the original parts.

I opted for the M Rear Spoiler on my car, it's just perfect and unobtrusive!! Good Luck with your decision!

thanks guys

I'm going to go with the M spoiler, not the ACS. When you said you guys went that route, did you go with the OEM part or a synthetic? HOw much quality difference and price difference is there? I know that the OEM unpainted through BMW is $220

ACS Spoiler, in my opinion, is far, FAR MORE flattering for the E60's look than the M5 stock spoiler, (which shouldn't really be called a spoiler, its kinda like a 1" bump you barely even notice).

I went with the ACS style also. I think it ads more to the car. That said, it's a matter of personal preference. Go with what you like. Check a few places like Trinity Autosport, Eurorev and some others in the classified section of the forum. These guys will help you out!

Good luck with the mod!

+1 I think the ACS or RD Sport style trunk spoilers are bye far the best looking spoilers Ive seen for the E60. I have to agree with Howitzer's opinion on the M spoiler. I am not impressed with that style at all.

To each is own, as just like wheels its all a matter of choice.

If you are getting an m tech kit, I would get an acs or rds spoiler. No m tech kit I would go with the OEM M spoiler...

If you are going to order the OEM M spoiler, contact Gary at newport BMW (25% off to e60.net members, plus no tax) his info here:

as far as quality goes, cannot comment on any them, but have not read of any threads regarding poor quality for any of them
