ROTFL!
Then explain me why this stock 545i, that has only 330 hp, :
would defeat you .
I doubt that it is a stock 545i, but i can take 100-200km/h time and you will be ashame with your huge time compared with mine.

One more thing you can get the stainless steel wire wound Vitek Spark plug wires to optimize your power (also you can try your real engine power by buying 100+ Octane race gasoline.
My car is a diesel

Uh? Sorry, but I seem to miss the point. The car in the video is accelerating 0-200 km/h. The whole thread here is about top speed.
Yes, you miss the point : 545i is faster than all 535d on the Earth, ok ?
Remapped, not remapped, 320 HP, 360, future chipped 500 HP, ecc.
Thus ... Chipped 535ds don't have those HPs :-) .

545i is not faster over longer distances, because you need to stop to fill up 3 times when the 535d fills up once

No one was talking about faster than other cars, and the old boring boring my petrol is faster than your diesel or vice versa. This was a technical thread on one specific car and engine and nothing else, or did it say, what do i need to do to beat 545i ? I didn't read that

Chill out

Well, the 545i is faster, and after about two hours you'd have to stop for filling up, correct, but meanwhile you are so much ahead that you can afford the stop.

Ice,

as you live in Germany, under standard traffic conditions, I doubt either the diesel or the 545i, will on a long trip even gain much on a Passat, a Vectra or similar. The space just isn't there.

By the way, if your's is not delimited, it could be tough anyway. (2 hours on one tank at full throttle ?)

Nevertheless, that wasn't my point. My point was that everyone has an excellent piece of car, no matter if a 520 or a 550. I'm just getting tired of that "mine's better than your's attitude", hence my "ironic" consumption comment. I'd probably have a 550, if it wasn't for driving 25000miles a year. Therefore, the 535d gives the best compromise, very close to the performance and the economy there when necessary. Only thing badly missing is the growl, although it ain't as bad as they were.

Hey, don't you see the "tease" smiley () behind my post?

Both cars are limited to 250 Km/h, so, of course, we'd be driving bumper to bumper and you'd pass me when I stop for filling it up.
But I don't drive my 545i for fuel consumption, I was looking for "fun" when I bought it, and I'd have MUCH more fun in my 545i than in a 535d. You might see it different, but that's my point of view.

If I'd drive 25K miles/year I'd have bought a 530d, maybe chipped...

That's what I meant. I'd have a 545 or 550, if it wasn't for the miles, but trust me, the 535d is still good fun, just a little strange smell when using the Diesel pump.

Mine is not limited anymore, did you ever think of delimiting yours ? Regelin is not that far away from you.

Zurueck zum deutschen Bier aus dem Lidl.

That's what I mean exactly. The beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.

Yeah, very often, but I saved the money and get some more toys now... 250 Km/h is pretty fast allready and you are faster than the most cars on the highway.

No, sorry, you seem to be missing MY point.

The thread is about top speed on a 535d. What the heck does a video on a 545 accelerating to 200kph have to do with it? What point do you think are making with that video? You may be demonstrating that that 545i is doing 0-200 in 13.6 or however much or little that is, but you are not proving anything in terms of top speed. For all we know, that 545 is limited at 250 kph, so a 530d will actually go a little faster as it has no limiter and it can reach ~255 (Autocar test)... once it catches it up.

If a remapped 535d (or a remapped wheelbarrow, for that) pulls out more power, it will go faster than anything else with the same aerodynamic and less power. That's just physics.

Apart from that, I am sceptical too that a 80+ bhp increase on a 270 bhp engine is going to be both highly driveable and higly reliable without taking particular care. However, the 535d having a turbocharged engine, it is perfectly possible to pull out 400+ bhp from it (and rebuild it every 5000km) - as per Mike Cooper's (DMS's boss) comments reported on other threads, so your comment about "not having those HPs" is a little misguided too.

Quick Reply: To reach 280 km/h in a 535d you need xxx hp!!!
