Done it on 530XD auto speedbox. 231hp before, and gained 50hp after remap. Difference before/after is obvious and was worth doing. no regret. No reliability issue since. Most worry would b with transmission more than engine. On top this improved MPG seriously. I got about 12% improvement in Mileage.

I've read on bmwland about a guy called simon at e-maps, and I've been in touch with him, (although it was a few months back).
I haven't seen one bad review for him or his company, in fact nothing but praise. I've a few things I want to do with the car then I'm giving them/him a call.

He also franchises to a guy called Colin who does loads of E46's across at the E46zone, again good reputation, trades under the name CLN Mapping, I have also spoken to Simon in the past and he seems to know his stuff, however im still doubtfull he is not simply using a generic map from Germany like all the other "mappers" out there, at least the maps he is using seem to have good reports, regardless of where they came from.

Exactly! i would prefer a map for my car, to hell with paying all that for a generic map, when i could prob find it myself
