My Ride: 2004 545iA - Built date 09/03, Sport Package, Alpine White III, Grey Interior, Cold Weather Package, PDC, Rear Electric Sunshades, Comfort Seats, Logic 7, Chromed BMW Style 124 18x8, 18x9 Wheels, M-Tech Aero Kit, Rear Trunk Decklid Spoiler, Tinted Windows, Valentine One Modifications: RDSport Quad Exhaust, 20x8.5 and 20x11 HRE 943R, Vorsteiner CF Decklid, Dinan CAI

I installed the M5 bumper on my 545i and my muffler shop had to re-pipe the left and right inner pipes of my RDSport Quad Exhausts by extending the inner pipes a few inches to make it fit. However, afterwards I noticed it does not sound the same as before and it does not appear to be as loud as before. Anyone have any thoughts as to why?

The same diameter of stainless steel pipes were used and the pipes were madrigal bent to the same angle. The biggest dfference is probably the right muffler is comprise of 2 pieces of madrigal bent pipes as opposed to the original which is just one piece. I can't imagine this can make that much of a difference.

Thanks in advance.

more layer of pipes is acting like a sound filtration that is why if you keep o.e RD then the sound is the same as before

Did you doubt ?
In next weeks I will open a thread in the group buy section : if there will be at least 5 people interested that factory will put into production the exhaust, that give 0.3s on the 0-100 and about 1s on the 0-200 .

I have clips of stock car, car with new exhaust and when I will have replaced catalyst and headers I will make definitive clips .
Then a dyno test : I hope in 400 HP :-) .

And I have on order 3.23 final drive ratio (-11% from stock 2.93) in US .

Nice pic in signature, nick!
