I've been on leave for the past 3 weeks and I came back to see my spoiler coming off on the sides. I had it put on at a body shop but it just seems like it doesn't want to stick with the 3m tape. Do you guys think gluing it down would work better? I'm going back to the body shop Saturday to pick up my M5 mirrors, so should I tell them to glue it?

That's what was holding it on, maybe the shop didn't use enough tape. I did my trunk finished myself using double side tape about two months ago and its still in the same place as when it went on. I completely taped it down and then used duct tape over that for added pressure and left it there for about 18 hours. Do you think I should do the same for the spoiler?

In our experience, 3M DS tape is NOT enough to hold the RDS spoiler for the trunk.
We recommend utilizing OEM Betalink adhesive in addition to 3M DS tape to prevent issues like the ones you are describing.

I had my rd sport held on with 3M tape only....the type from the parts store with the red backing. It was on for over a year....went through 2 winters with below freezing temps and one summer with above 100 degree temps. Never an issue with it coming loose. I'm betting who ever installed it didn't use enough tape. My local dealer painted and installed mine, but they didn't use enough tape. By the time I left their shop and got home, it was barley hanging on. That is when I got the tape from the parts store, and did it myself. I think the key is and what I did, was line the recessed channel on the spoiler with the 3M tape completely. I also had contacted Racing Dynamics and this is how they told me to tape it. The shop just taped around the channel and not in it. When I took the spoiler off when I sold the car, it was still stuck on the trunk very strong. I had to use the fishing line method to remove it.

Yea, the shop had only lined the outside of it with tape not the entire inside. I figure glue would be best since I also want the smoothest look possible with it.
