Since I cannot see any possible way for the lights to actually emit radio waves that would interfere with the radio reception, I'd say the interference is electrical - in which case, look sick or not, its probably best to take them out if there is no fix.
PS I've never noticed it with my AEs, but I'll check now (even though I think I actually have R-Dash).

2007 530i MTEC v2s - Lights set to auto..FM radio loses reception as I enter an open air mall parking lot....manually turned lights from auto to off and FM radio resumed receiving signal in the lot.

I also experience a little bit of interference.
One of my favorite FM radio stations peters out once I turn on the lights.
And my FM transmitter produces a light hiss too, but you get used to it.
The lights are worth it though
