I'm thinking of getting some radar, laser and camera detector that works in Europe? Mostly Germany, Austria, etc... I want something good. Anybody who actually has something already and working?

In Germany it is highly illegal to use a radar detector.
The biggest problem is not the police and the legal aspect though...
The biggest problem is, that there are several ways for the police to measure your speed and get pics/vids of you with equipent you CAN NOT detect!
So, it's not just illegal over here, it is also absolutely useless! And that's a proven fact.

I just spoke to this company. The guy there is super, super helpful and will guide you honestly. I dont think that radar detectors are illegal in germany at all.
The bel in this link is hard wired and comes with a laser blocker also.
They have mobile devices also and whilst maybe a little more expensive than other web pages i found, the advice and knowledge the guy has is worth the extra.

[/quote]I totally agree with Iceman: radar detectors and laser detectors are totally useless. One possible legal solution is to load into your navigation system (it's available also for PDA) all known Speed Cameras locations. There're websites updating the informations daily, including all known mobile radar locations. It's not 100% proof, but it will give you good chance of avoiding to be caught at least by a fixed camera.

[/quote]95% of the fixed and mobile camers in germany and austria are either ka or K band. radar detectors (the bel anyway) will pick up those at 400m minimum. that leaves laser guns which you cannot detect as they are instant on, and section controls which are few in number in germany and you can find out where those are on the internet and put them in to you navi.
but the common radars are detectable with good appliances. i have been using a top of the line bel for 3 years and its never failed me.
I do think the update pda's camera locator things (sorry don't know proper name) are good however as they are updated daily and will pick up section controls. I am just not sure about the coverage where i live (austria) and the language is an issue for me.

German laws only allow us to buy and own it, not to have it in the car, not even if it's not in use!
