My Ride: Current - 330 Sport Topaz Blue, Grey Leather, HK HIFI...lost interest!!
Waiting for - 535d Sport, Silver Grey, Foldy Mirrors, 172 19",Logic7,Pro Radio,Through load,Heated Front Seats,High Gloss shadowline,Black Maple,Headlight wash,Sun Protection Glass.
Of course the ideal situation is zero damage, however the damage I'm talking about is minimal on the old grill and nothing more. My Car is the M Sport, so I coulnt see and easy access up thro the bottom grill.
It seems that the bottom and side clips are the main problem in other threads ive seen, so I carried out the following to speed things up.
Fisrt on one side only....
On the bottom 2 clips i melted the middle part of the clips out with a soldering iron, on the top 3 clips I pushed them out with a screwdriver, I then simply pulled (Hard) and out it came.
Then on the otherside I reached thro to the clips with pliers and squeezed the clips side and bottom, they released easily because of the access avialable, then popped the top 3 clips with the driver and out it came.
Simply pushed my new chrome grills into place...."click"..well happy. Still have skin on my knuckles...
Well its an alternative to all that agro..isnt it?
