Thumbs up

So I talked to ORR, a High Pro shop that deals with our cars, and wanted some info on doing a rear diff.
This guy I was talking to was very knowlegable and suggested that I go with the following.

1. change my gearing to a slightly higher gear.
a. better hole shot from the line
b. loose some of the top end
c. loose some Millage per Gallon (not a big loss)

I'm waiting to hear back from his guy that builds these and seeing what gear he's suggesting.

2. Change my "one wheel wonder" to LSD.
a. gain power off the line and let both tires work.
b. 40% or 60% lock that both wheels will let go and just spin
(with DTC turned off)

Now here are my questions.
What does Quaife do that this rebuild won't do?
What are the diffrences in both Pro's and Con's?
Price between the 2 seem pretty even.

Getting this done in spring. but I'm trying to get my ducks lined up now.

Thanks,
Audi_Eatter

I gave you my 0.02 in the past:

1) with steptronic, your gears are already short.
2) Quaife is 0-75% and you have three positive feedback at least (me, Mhs525 and bettermakeway)

Quaife will operate in silent where the other LSD may make some noise.

Less frequent fluid changes and much lower operating temperatures from less moving parts and no clutch packs to wear out.

In your website (http://www.hpautowerks.com) I didn't find a Quaife ATB Diff for E60 models, just E36 M3 3.2, E39 5 Series non-M, E46 3 Series non-M, Z4 non-M, and E82/E90/E92/E93 in stock.
If you have it, how about a Group Buy pricing

I'm in if we can get a GB on for the E60 models. BTW will this have a greater effect for those of us with manual transmission E60s?
