You look like your dog! Don't they say that owners/dogs resemble one another?

yes, the mufflers are vertical.. to match each side..

I can paint the cans? how?? I would like to paint, for rust resistant purposes and stuff.

High temp paint? Can I get this at home depot or is there a specific place? is it a spray or paint with a brush?

Also can I paint the pipes too ? or is that not recommended?

Thanks for all the great comments!

MK

haha. I already sprayed it that weekend.

I actually have something up my sleeve this weekend and hopefully everything will turn out alright. Changing my setup a little bit due to droning.. its annoying. heh.

Hopefully the tips I got are the ones I wanted.. I can't wait. =)

No problem. its always nice to have old threads reborn.

Droning is loud vibration from the exhaust. Some people like it, some people don't. I want it to go away.

To get rid of it, put resonators and installing things that'll absorb the vibration / sound.

Bimmer32 figured it out, how to get rid of the droning.

Hopefully this weekend, it'll be cut down significantly, but not too quiet, as a little sound is nice.

so I'm the only who doesn't like these?

oh well.

anyway, did you paint them in the end? I see many exhaust jobs dailiy on the road, even factory ones and two things make them look stupid: first the size (usually just a little too much to be in line with the rest of the car and thus, 'almost there but wrong' but sometimes HUGE and that has a statement in itself which I can accept as someones' taste)

Second thing is add-on end pieces that look cheap and fake (like Honda uses a lot here, but also the Korean makes) especially if its the Mercedes 'I don't want to look like the diesel that I am'- type (inside the tube you can see the real exhaust turned towards the street surface) even on factory cars.

And third (not stupid but a lack of finishing touch) is that if you put so much effort in creating this - and it is a lot of work to get them (and the fender) correctly aligned - please do the finishing touch of having a look from quite far and low behind and do the painting of the box and any other parts that fall out. Such as the rear suspension arms on the 1 series (alu coloured metal), or shock absorbers from some bright coloured brand.

looking forward to current pics with sideskirts and all, must look like a real beast by now!

Umm.. Yea.. I did it back in October... I painted them and all.

Pics are here,

Link to side skirts and wheels

I am putting on new suspension this week along with my trunk decklid spoiler, new rear tires (285's), and new exhaust. One Magnaflow that's same as the left side muffler, and the a smaller muffler on the right side/passengerside, so the exhausts tucks into the body, also putting resonators into to stop the droning / loudness of the car..

=D Gosh I can't wait.
