when you open the door it doesnt light up?? thats what most us model would do... so i guess if you tap wire to one of interior light wire it would work

They should light up when you unlock the car, not when you open the door. Keep in mind that if you open the door, it's too late, you've already stepped in the puddle! (If you're exiting the car, the light mounted at the bottom of the door is supposed to light the puddles before you exit the vehicle.)

I hard wired my M5 mirror puddle light to the light at the bottom of the door ... AFAIK I think it's one of that thing that require re-programming as the door modules must be aware that you have such option to get it to work the OEM way.

They need programming to work (whether you have the door modules or not). Best to wire these in parallel with the door lights, which conveniently come on with the interior lights and so is exactly how they are supposed to work.

ok chears for that, i wired the door leds into the modules exactly where they are supposed to go and they worked straight away i guess the mirror lights are different.

ok door panel off again and i will wire them into the door light. They were an absolute pain to fit.

What do you mean you wired the wrong way? So you are still using the door modules and not the door lights?

yup neg-pos and pos-neg, no harm done but thats why they wouldn't work, i used the method you suggested for the passenger side but i am going to try the module for the drivers, side i`m pretty sure
the module is already setup for the lights as the door leds work from it.

pics coming when i have done the boot release switch.
