Hi

This type of box will allow you to mount/connect warious types of A/V solutions ( DVD / TV-tuner/PS3 etc ) to 6.5" and 8.8" screen's , with or without OEM BMW navigation , I can see it also have RGB input ,thats allow you to connect an aftermarket navigation ( like a VDO MS5000, Pioneer , Alpine navigation or any other with RGB picture output ) .

I drive with a similar type of box , and it works fine , just be awear when hooking up on the K-Can-Bus LOW & HIGH , that you do this right , if done wrong , you can damage the Can-interface of the M-ASK/CCC or CAS.

well the key to it is that they have a toggle switch so it's not integrating with I-Drive. it basically re-appropriates the screen for usage as an LCD screen. ergo you can't use the I-Drive menu to watch movies etc.

Hi

The type I got installed , there I can switch between the interface and the OEM men?'s with the I-drive botten ( I do the "toggel switching" with the I-drive botten ), to "operate" the extern deviceses I have connected ( DVD , TV + aftermarket Nav ) , I have to use the remote controls for each of thees units.
