My Ride: 2006 titanium silver metallic Like new 41k Cold Weather Package
Default

Had these sitting around for about a month now and haven't had time to install since you can't drive the car for 24 hours. Looking forward to the end results

I've done a couple other minor mods lately, changed all my roundels to Black and Silver carbon fiber and got rid of the amber in my headlights.

Once this is done it is time for my H&R install, springs will be here by Friday!

Cars coming along

Good luck with your mods. My advice, follow the DIY's posted and be generous with the silicone, the double sided tape isn't worth much but to help hold it while the silicone cures. I did this about a month ago, you can see pics in my album.

I bought 2 bottles of Goop, one for the roof and one for the trunk. Hope I don't make a mess!

Eh, with Goop (I used it for the trunk, doesn't bond as well to the glass for the roof spoiler) if you make a mess all you need is nail polish remover (thanks to my wife for that one) and it will come off if you do make a mess.

I couldn't find industrial strength silicone. The guy and the parts place said that the goop was stronger then the silicone they had. Hopefully it holds, I've heard of people just using the tape without problems so im sure I will be good

I'm sure you'll be fine. Like I said, Goop comes off pretty easily with Acetone (nail polish remover) and it works well. I wouldn't use JUST tape, but the combination works well. The install is pretty easy.

You should try the BetaLink adhesive that you can purchase from BMW parts. I don't know if all of the BMW dealers use it to put the spoilers on the car but supposedly alot do. It is very strong and it will hold alot better than the tape.

Well I finished doing the trunk and roof. I'm no body man that's for sure, I wish I would have taken it to a body shop.

I'm sure 99% of people wont see the imperfections but I know they are there

The trunk was freakin hard to align nicely. Guess I'll see tomorrow when I take all the tape off.
