Looking for some advice. Can a pre-lci auto shifter be changed to an lci shifter? Complicated, easy????
Thanks.
Thanks.

You mean just the handle stick for look? Or the whole working thing?
'cuz the pre-LCI uses mechanical linkage and stuff when you move the lever while the LCI uses electronic ... AFAIK the two are not interchangeable.

Just the handle for looks, but it doesn't sound like it can be done. Is here an aftermarket shifter handle that will work on pre lci??

I think someone posted a DIY on how to replace the pre-LCI shifter to LCI awhile back, strictly cosmetic. It was a bit taller than normal though.
As for the after market one, check out the M-shifter kit which is very nice except for that "M" emblem.

I was wondering the exact same thing about the shifter as to whether or not it could be cosmetically upgraded to the LCI. I'm not into the M look so much (I feel it would be lying to myself if I got M style mods on a 525
)
What about other style shifters if the LCI can't be cosmetically fitted? Leather? Wood?

Thanks. I look through and search usually before asking questions on the forum, but I also get tired of panning through 35 pages to find what I need

Haha....me too! I trip out when I see people take a 5 something and completely turn in into an M! I have to say, they usually do a great job.
My only M upgrade will be the steering wheel....it feels soooo good compared to that pencil on my 530

Let me know if you find a decent handle.
