Default Pre LCI Halogen to LCI Halogen harness

Hi, I really didn't want to start a new thread about the pre lci to lci as there a hundreds out there but bare with me.

As some of you might know from my other thread. I had recently purchased a used lci halogen lights to go on my pre lci 2004 e60. So i thought i make my own harness to retrofit the lci lights. As its a used lights i bought, the seller didn't bother taking out the original LCI plugs and so he just cut the wires as shown below. As i already got this, i just wanted to know what other parts/part no. do i need to complete the retrofit cable?

i read the thread that sas made but i couldn't figure out the parts needed from the diagrams on realoem.com:

Thanks for you input!

You can buy the retrofit cable from BMW for less than $40.

Part # 61120432110

I think that you are also going to need a new light control module.

Thanks for that but this kit is only for xenon light or adaptive headlights and yes, they will require a new LM 2 which on the halogen you wouldn't need to do that.

That's not exactly retrofit cable. It's retrofit parts to remake the headlight harness.

To the op, basically you just need to solder the wiring into the respective wires on your car and you're done.

Though the wires in that picture is a bit puzzling to me. I don't think I have seen LCI wires with those coloring before.

As you said, i might just do that. Also i read that people getting errors from the AE, would i still get this even tho am installing the orions? Do i still need to add a resistor?

From what I've read, you will need to use resistors but your AE won't be as bright. I'm also thinking about doing this conversion but it still seems to have flaws.

Hi! I installed it by hard wiring from the car to the harness. I didnt use the originl AE as i replaced them with orions. At that time, i used a seperate connection from the battery to operate the orions and i just removed the check for the original AEs so i dont get errors. But couple of months back, I managed to get a good deal for lm2 installed so i now run my orions directly from the car connection with out any issues. I will upload a picture as soon as i can.

I would really appreciate that!!
Just wondering also did you have to use a resistor or did you not have to because you disabled the check AE option in idrive?
