I called my dealership and they will not install the OEM m-tech kit unless it is purchased from them (Fields BMW Orlando). They will also not install OEM wheels and tires if not purchased from them.

Does anyone sell the 2008 and up Aerodynamic kit (Original OEM) that is already painted before shipping?

I have an experienced import mechanic helping me, but he does not paint.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Bring it to a good body shop, a whole lot cheaper. I paid close to $800 painted and installed. The dealer wanted $2200

OEM body kit is only available with primer, not paint.

Check with Trinity Autosport and EuroRev in the classifieds. They are very good and have great prices on painted and shipped body kits. The kit doesn't take too long to install, plus you get to learn about your car!

Eurorev states that they can ship an original BMW OEM kit painted for $2800. That seems a bit high to me. What are your thoughts?

I can order one unpainted from Garry of Newport for 1600 plus shipping and have it painted and installed by a body shop.

What is the going rate for labor on these types of body kits?

Thanks,

John

LCI kits are a bit more expensive than pre-LCI kits due to extra hardware/brackets...I read members here paying almost double that, $4000+ for kit, paint and install from the dealership

Gary might be a better option and trying to find a local shop to due the paint and install....some are even savvy enough to install the kits themselves following DIY threads from here

I live in Winter Garden/Oakland area. I will see how much the collision center charges on lee road for labor. If it is too expensive then I will order the one painted and install it hopefully with some help.

I will probably end up going that route. I would just hate to screw up a perfectly good brand new car...especially one that is over $50,000. I was even nervous working on my Suzuki GSXR when I had it, but I did quite a bit to it. I think I can manage, especially with my friend who is a Mercedes-Benz mechanic.
