I just ordered and had installed the Poplar Center Console Trim and the new Leather iDrive Knob. While I think it's clear these are aesthetically positive adds proven by 05/06 models produced standard with these...apparently, i've taken a slightly different approach by accident of course

Not knowing, I ordered the Poplar Center Console Trim with the black plastic trim vs the grey Since, I have grey dokata leather it makes for an interesting combo...however, it's become a theme with my interior as well, I have the wood gear shift with the black leather trim (this was thrown in with the car originally), and now the Leather iDrive Knob with black leather insert...trend setting or not so much???

[part numbers] iDrive knob = 65-82-6-945-148, Poplar Center Console w/Black trim = 51-45-6-951-031
[Cost] iDrive Knob List $54.12 Dealer Price $44.00, Poplar Center Console List $138.06 Dealer $117.00

Was it easy to install the center wood trim?

Edit* Look what you made me do......I just ordered the wood trim and knob I'll have to wait a week because the idrive knob is on backorder

Thanks. My dealer performed the install. They charged $59 [half-hour labor] for both the center console and knob.

As simple as pulling it out and snapping the new one in

My dealer put it on...i imagine it's plug n play as it's the part that's standard with 06 models now...

Installing the center wood trim is dead easy. I've open my center console for x number of time, and it's very easy to do. All I need it a small flat head and a philip head one.
