I have an almost new set of E46 M3 18" Wheels and Tires out of 2002 M3 that I would like to install on 2005 E60 530i. Before I even go through the trouble of trying, does anybody know if they would fit?

Thanks.

Need to know the 2 size numbers to ballpark. My 235 45 17, E39 snows fit on the new 17 wheels I bought for E60 snow use. Minimal difference in ratio/aspect.

Ray,
I am not worried about the tire sizes. They are very close because of the difference in diameter and profile. I am worried more about the wheel offset difference...

Your M3 wheels will not work with the e60. They have different offsets. The M3 wheel has a et47 offset in the front and et26 rear. The e60 needs a et20 offset. If you want to split hairs, the rear wheels will fit but sit in little, but not by much.

The 3-series and the 5-series has traditionally different wheel and tire sizes.

I'm sure that your E46 wheels do not fit your E60.

Go only for wheels that have the correct offset!

The offset is different. But the offset is larger in the 3 series wheels (about 40mm for the three series and about 20mm for the 5 series). Therefore the 3 series wheels will sit is too far.
The solution may be 20mm spacers and they should work - assuming they fit on the hub.

If they do fit let me know because I have a 530xi and need the 40mm offset and it is hard to find 5 series wheels for the xi, but if they fit around the hub then 3 series will work. This would be helpful information for all e60/61 xi owners.

Rears will fit fine, but you'll need spacers for the front set.
