First off, good work. CF looks hot ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
I don't know about buying another steering wheel, but you can definitely get the steering wheel re-wrapped at a professional interior place. I've been quote $250 here in NY to make the steering wheel rim (I have the same like you) thicker and have it wrapped in alcantara - I think its well worth the dough. And that leather wrapper you got man, sorry - I'm really not feeling it either.

I like everything except for the cheap looking leather-wrap steering wheel. Spend some dough and let a pro do it for ya.
Buy this one instead: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M5-5-Se...sQ5fAccessories

Yeah...i'm not in love with it either, but it's better than the stock st wheel, and least it's thicker and the leather feels better.
That st wheel on ebay does not include the airbag and usually sell for $400-500, plus the airbag is at least another $500. Plus, I dont like to mess with the airbag stuff so to install it I guess it'd be another $200, at least. Total $1200.
For the meantime, this $50 leather wrap might make it, but yes I'm always looking around for st wheels. The problem also is that my car was built before 09/2005 so none of the newer and st wheels will fit it, so I'm limited to that particular one you show from ebay.

I've got the leather wrap as well--don't listen to the haters (who apparently have money to burn)!
I'm quite happy with it.
