I get a PDC Failer light come on when i start the engine and the parking sensors dont pick anything up!
After a search on here saw a post where a guy said to put it in reverve while on ignition and listen to each sensor for a clicking sound. did this and one sensor on the back does no make the sound!

After going to BMW they said they would charge ?45 for a check and then whatever part costs on top to fix the problem (he said over ?100!!)

Any suggestions on this as it seems abit expensive just to replace a sensor

just buy a sensor from them or somewhere and fit it yourself, they click into place so easy, i had same problem so i bought a new one took old one off simply unplug it and fit new one, then faliure will go away to no trip to the stealer

Replacement PDC sensors come pre-painted from BMW - painting them is NOT RECOMMENDED. It can cause them not to work properly!

I had my front second right one go out and I just bought a PDC from BMW and put it in myself. Like luigi said...do not paint it.

Oh okay fair enough. i see they have sensors on ebay and a few people supply them in any colour you want.

How do i remove one from the back bumper? its the one just above the tail pipes (on the left)

I will have to call bmw tomorrow and get a quote for OEM ones from them. Would i need a part number for this

painting them will not cause problems, its a plastic sensor which is painted by bmw or you it makes no diff, my car had a respray from silver to white so all were lighty sanded and then painted white, and it does not matter how many layers they still work perfect, as for fitted they simply unclip from behind bumper and new one clicks in very easy even if you dont have any diy exsper
