mine has a leak, for some reason bmw says its not covered on extended warranty

the unit costs ?1000+fitting

all that is wrong is the chrome inside has corroded and looks shite

before i fork out ?1000 are they lamps easy to take apart, coz if so ill just re chrome it my self lol
rather then changing the whoooooooole part that only 5% is broke lol

i had a look and it did look like there was clips holding the clear plastic onto the front of the light, so im guessing u can detach this?

thanks

If you plan on replacing it anyways, it wouldn't hurt to try. Good luck!

BMW seem to have a problem with headlights letting moisture in. Im sure Hella didnt design them to do that and as such its a design problem with the car causing a safety issue if the chrome on the reflector corrodes. I had both headlights replaced under warranty on my car because of moisture in them. Before forking out I would write a letter to BMW UK and say how disapointed you are with what is a supposed to be a premium car that has extended warranty on it. They may cover part of the cost or even all of it, would be worth trying that with the dealer once more before writing to BMW.
