Has anyone in the U.S. looked into or done this mod of adding steering wheel paddle shifters to a steptronic E60?

I was thinking about it, but it's too expensive for me. I need to replace my current steering wheel with the sport one and air bag, too. That's run for about $1000 plus paddle shift and so forth. I am thinking about 550 with SMG.

Peter,

Nice to know that you have the SMG wheel with paddles installed for your Steptronics tranny. I thought that someone in this forum mentioned before that Steptronics tranny was not able to have this mod.

Did Hobi has this modification posted in his website ??

Yes, it is done by HObi and it is on his web site and also you can see the topic
[url=http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=15881].

SMG paddles with steptronic can not be ordered from BMW. IT is not an option.
You have to do it on your own using Hobi's kit and invetion.

This is Hobi's work and has nothing to do with any company he is associated with. If you want to know something about the kit or anything else, you have to ask him.
Just drop him a PM!
He'll get back to you ASAP.
