Here's a link to another discussion we had about this subject a while back. Click on the link and scroll down to my post (rodybmw) for a couple of ways this can be done. To summerize my previous post: The clear side marker or even the headlight lens/cover is not available as a separate piece like older BMW's, so you would have to get the complete headlight unit. Bekkers sell the Xenons for $1980 and the halogens for $598 (for a pair). My suggestion was to get the cheaper halogens and swap the outer lens/cover of the halogens with the outer lens/cover of your originals (which has the side marker integrated in it). This could only be done providing all the mounting tabs and attachment points are the same on both.

I emailed Mr. Bekker and suggested that he try this out himself and see if it will work. If so he would be able to sell a lot of the halogens as most of us would be willing to pay $598 for the halogens and swap covers, but not pay almost $2000 for the Xenons. He liked my idea and said that he would try it out and get back to me. That was a couple of months ago and he has not responded to me yet. I did not contact him again since I did not even have an E60 and did not know when I would be getting one. However, I just ordered a MY 2005 545i ED a couple of days ago, so I would be contacting Mr. Bekker soon to find out whether he tried this out or not.

I suggest that you go to the following link and read everyones input on this subject:
