I'm expecting delivery of my new E61 LCI at the end of the month. I ordered the car without the sat nav option.
Having a Z4 with BMW's Sat Nav has not been a great experience - I find it pretty useless as with every new road built or junction / round-a-bout added to the road system the BMW's data-base gets more and more out dated with constant reminders that "you are not on a digitised road" message becoming the norm.
Hence my question. Two questions rather.
1. I'd like to buy a portable Sat Nav for my E61. A Garmin, or TomTom or some such machine. I can also then pop it into the Z4 when I switch cars. Which one of the many systems out there would you recommend ?
2. Where would be the ideal (most ergonomical, neatest and attractive) place to mount the system in the E61 ?
All suggestions and thoughts would be very welcome.
