I just recently purchase my 07 525i, after only 4K miles Idrive is showing my car needs more engine oil, took it to service center and they advised that there was a major oil leakeage and needed a few days to work on it. Anyone having this problem?

I am not sure you have an actual leakage.
The 525i and 530i customarily burn through a quart or two of oil in the first 4k miles. Many have reported the same thing, and the solution was simply replacing the missing quart.
If you had a real leak, your oil would continue to drain, and you would see dangerously low levels on your IDrive screen.
If the warning light showed just the loss of a quart or two, do not worry too much.
My car (07' 530i) does not have the problem, but I remember that the salesman warned me on the delivery day that this would likely happen, and not to panic.
Good luck, and please read other threads on the same topic.

Hope it's OK, Tim! It should not be a problem otherwise you'll receive emission message or see oil leak on the floor.
There are a few ways oil going away:
1. Combustion chamber - cause O2 sensor dirty => trigger emission message
2. Radiator - when block gets crack and I don't think it's the case for new car, but cannot be ruled out. Need to check radiator liquid
3. Floor - this is so obvious
4. US car market
(this is just a joke)

Hi there, I disagree with previous comment about burning oil in the first few months. I've had my 06 530xi for ten months, and never needed to top off. I would have it checked out.
