get the 166's because there not on every stock sport 550i and when you view them from a distance or the side, they look so damn good. O BTW i also have them

172s are brutal to clean , 166s are a breeze to keep clean................and get Axxis dustless pads !

NEITHER! Get the 167's if you're going OEM.
The 166's suck and are just boring. The 172's are a pain in the arse to clean and look like a spider web.

(I actually prefer the M166s over the M172s, I only swapped them due to fitment on my Touring with 15mm spacers and all the hassle of getting them formally approved in Germany. I voted M166s)
