The aftermarket wheels may have been out of balance.

I made sure they were balanced before they were put on.... <_<

[quote name='Hamann5' date='May 22 2005, 11:03 PM']no personally I believe it is the rims becuase when i put my stock wheels on I don't get the vibration...

Yours might be the rims then. I know mine is not because I have had them replaced along with the tires and still not fixed. Mine only comes through the seats (the steering wheel does not vibrate at all) and happens between 65 and 85 mph.

fq1 Please help

I have the same problem like you:
The car vibrates ( I can feel the vibration in the seats not in steering wheel) between 65 - 85 Mph.
I can feel this vibration especially when I accelerate the car, but not only.
My rims are perfectly balanced and
they are original E60 wheels
If you had already solved this problem
please give me some information.

Thanks

Check the wheels & tires for out of round. You can have perfect balance and still be out of round which will cause this condition. It can be somewhat variable after you turn a corner or take a curve as the tires go in and out of synch. A good tire shop can use a runout gauge to determine if an out of round condition is present.

The question of hub rings is a red flag to me - whats with this?

Do the rims not fit snug on the hub? If they do not, the wheels will not center correctly by just using the bolts - If that is the case, return them for your money back or you will most likely have to put up with the Vibration.

I have replaced the wheels and tires with new ones, balanced again the wheels
but the vibration is still there exact at same speeds.

I`m sure the problem doesn`t come from the wheels.

Genuine bmw E60 wheels need hub rings ? because on my E60 style 122 i didn`t see them.

You can't be sure unless you have them checked for out of round. Your replacements could also be faulty.

My replacement can be faulty even if it`t new and taken from my BMW dealer?

Wheels designed for a specific vehicle should be hub-centric, meaning they don't need spacers/hub rings etc to fit correctly. BMW wheels should all be hub-centric.
