Hi All,

So I put my rims on.. I couldnt wait for the caps, such a nice day in NYC...

Sorry no pics, Its still missing the caps, and you can see them ugly BMW hubs..

Now the real problem / concern. I drove around for a bit and when i hit a bump in the front I heard a scrap that sounded like metal scraping the floor / concrete.

I also noticed the wheel/ tire is really close to the strut shaft, and the spring stopper is really close to the top / tip of the tire / rubber.

Is it supposed to be like that? IS the offset the right one? I can't even tell / find the offset on the rims, its not indicated anywhere.

My tire setup is Falken 452's - 245/35/20 in the front, with a 20x9 wheel.

My suspension is Eibach Pro Kit, with Koni Sport Strut, set at the hardest stiffness setting.

Anyone have some insight? I don't want to continue driving around and it turns out the wheel scraps out the suspension of my car or something messes up.

MK

P.S. I'll post pics once i get the caps and my spoiler. Also I put my suspension above cause some people don't read signatures... =)

i've heard that Falken and Kumho's have a tall sidewall.. Toyo T1R's are more rounded... might be a better fit for the front.. You probably won't have any issues in the rear. GL!

You sure the inside of the wheel is whats rubbing? It could be the inside of the fender rubs the outside of the tire over dips in the road and the like. Look closely at the outer edge of the tire where the tread meets the sidewall, any evidence of rubbing?

hmmm... so its the tire rubbing the front passenger side fender.

Now for solutions? I heard from John (Alpinewhite) to cut the front fenders... Anyone know if this will solve it?

How bout raising the front a little bit higher.. ? Change to coilovers or is there like a rubber/spacer that I can use to raise the front by like 1/2 an inch...

It also seems the passenger front side is lower than the driver side front.

I'm going downstairs to take pictures now... so ha! I know you people are fiends for pictures cause I am too.

Any advice is welcomed!

Check the lip on the inside of your wheel to see if any metal shaved off because it might be rubbing against the strut. If that's the case, you'll need spacers.

+1 falkens and kumho have square-ish sidewalls. toyos have a more rounded sidewall. i was rubbing really bad and there were no signs of rubbing on the fenders. i even had will at eurorev drive my car for him to see. it turned out being a hard plastic that you need to cut that was located in the area where the fender meets the bumper. it wasnt the actual fender itself, but the fenders have already been rolled anyway.

+1 for this too. i ended up sporting a 3mm spacer on each front wheel. but what i heard was a type of knocking each time the wheel rubbed the strut, mainly while turning and braking.

Any way to raise my car only on that wheel by 1/2 an inch?

No metal is being shaved off so its not the inside.

Nerwyll, you said cut this plastic piece? can i see a pic? show me what you did? And spacers.. doesn't that make the front vibrate in due time? and also would I need new lugs?

What if I get coilovers? will that help?
