Hey guys,
Everyone knows the offsets on the XI's are much higher.
Standard size for the car is 17x7.5 with 43mm offset. (Tire Size 225 50 17)
There is a set of tires I have found with 17x7.5 with 47mm offset (tire size 225 45 17)
Will these fit the car or do they have to be 43mm exactly, and also the tires are a little smaller from what I have stock, is that OK as well or do they need to be the same?
Forgive my ignorance here, I don't know a lot about wheels and how this would affect the car or not. I've also attached a pic of the rims I've found, what do you think about these on the 5 series?
Thanks!

4MM out or in will not make any significant difference. I just picked up a set of 19 inch 128 wheels off an X3 (+47 and +51 offsets), and I checked with my service guy at BMW about them fitting and he said its no problem.
These wheels will fit fine.
These wheels will fit fine.

This is a little off topic, but if you do buy those, I would have those wheels rebalanced and ask to have those weights placed on the inside of the wheel.

The wheels will fit but wont look aggressive at all. I would want to run spacers with that offset.

I was going to ask the same question.... WitH are there wheel weights clamped to the out side of the wheels?

The offset should work, but why would you want to run shorter tires? If your tires are still good, just swap them onto those wheels, and sell whatever you have leftover.

My Ride: 2007 BMW 530xi Space Grey / Dark Grey
Sport pkg, Sun screens, Navi, 30% tint, HID Fogs, RDash license plate lights, LED Reverse lights, 6000k AE's, 20s Glossy black 128 wheels
Ok so I have a 2007 530xi with 18" 123 wheels all round. I ordered a set of 128s 20s black non OEM. so I then Ordered my tires and The guy at the shop sold 2 of them right away. I was urgent to throw on my 20s, so I only did the rear set of two. Drove the car for like maybe 7 mls and the front differetial started leaking fluid and my passenger axel got messed up. Any ideas why this happened?? I got it fixed and the differential got messed up again!! Im thinking its the wheels that the front ones are 18"s and the rear are 20's.
