Hello,
I have a pre-LCI with auto-dim and heated side mirrors. NO auto-fold. Can you retrofit an OEM M5 mirror with heated glass, auto-dim, and auto-fold? Has anybody here done it?
Thanks!

Is auto dip the same as auto fold?

Yes, I've done this mod more than 3 years ago.
But no the the folding will not just simply automagically work by installing the switch on the door panel instead it needs coding.

HA HA! Yeah, I knew that there would be coding involved in the end. I'm trying to get a feel of what else was involved as far as hardware. What's auto dip anyway?

Hmmm...here's realoem's description for the left and right mirror
For vehicles with
Interior/outside mirror with auto dip
S430A=Yes
01 Outside mirror M w/o glass,primed,left M 1 09/2008 03/2010 51168046639 ENDED
01 Outside mirror M w/o glass,primed,righ M 1 09/2008 03/2010 51168046640 ENDED
I spec'd it out for the US left hand drive. If auto dip was for the reverse, it wouldn't dip for the left mirror on LHD cars.
