Is the oem 166 lighter, better quality than the VRM v718?

Where is the best place to buy OEM 166 wheels, trunk finisher, painted side skirts, at a reasonable price?

I don't know about the wheels, but for the trunk finisher and side skirts, PM members Trinity Autosport or Nerweezy. They sell great replicas that alot of the members here use. However, they would recommend having the pieces painted by your local shop so that it can match your existing paint body better. Most places have the same policy.

www.getbmwparts.com offers a very good deal on the OEM 166 wheels.

The last time I looked the fronts (8.5 X 19) were $477.10 each and the rears (9.5 X 19) were $510.20 each. Hope this helps.

oemwheelsplus.com appears to have rep 166s very reasonably priced. I'm considering them myself, and would love to hear from anyone who has used them.

Any one having vibration issues with VMR wheels and are they considered good quality rims compared to the 166?

Can't speak of the weight for the VMR's but I can for the OEM 166. I weighed the rear (19x9.5) at 26.8 lbs. and roughly 24 lbs. for the fronts.

yes i have them on my car right now size 19inch square setup et40 all around with continental contact dws bought them from oemwheelplus.com,they balanced good and knock on wood no problems so far.i chose square setup because i have a xi and i dont need a staggered setup like a rwd because basically staggered is for better traction which i dont need for a xi and looks which is a personal preference.and really i dont want to mess up my transfer case, yeah i know a lot of guys are doing it but down the road who knows how much damage you are doing to your transfer case.

Thanks, i wanted to know if anyone experienced vibration issues with VMR wheels or other replicas. I like the m166 best of all but they are a bit pricey. Also what is the standard offset i can use with staggered 19' on a 530 with sport package.

Check the replicas carefully. most of the ones I've seen look bad....are no where near as concave as the originals.

That's good to know. Thanks! Yeah, I agree with you about the square setup. Don't see the need for staggered on an AWD car.

How good are the folks at oemwheelsplus to deal with? Pretty hassle free experience?

Concaveness is a mute point on an xi because we have the bigger offset. I'm just happy that I can still achieve the Style 166 look.
