NOS Octane Booster for e60?

Hate to bump an old thread, but what exactly do you mean by "tuned for it" when referring to the engine? Isn't octane most noticeable on a turbocharged car? So would adding a bottle to my 535 have a noticeable effect?

Fifth gear has done a test a while ago comparing those Octane booster which available in the market,
and found out all these products will decrease your bhp rather than gain! (I dont know why but they have tested in the Dyno)
Here is the link of the video (3rd one on the 2nd row):

Hope you find it useful!![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

They sell that stuff at our local Pep Boys for ~$7. It's no different then any other octane booster. It will give you a small boost but nothing dramatic. It WILL NOT give you a 6 point octane increase, maybe 1 or 2 points at most. Even if it gave you it's claimed octane increase your stock engine is not tuned to take advantage of the increased octane. Contrary to what most of you think, higher octane fuel does not make more HP. What higher octane does is it allows for more aggressive tunning to make more HP. So unless your car is tuned for the higher octane, it is a total waste of money.
