Good morning everyone.

Guess I've been missing out on this conversation already!

I can also provide more detailed pictures of whatever angles, wiring etc you may need.

In regards to the GB pricing, if you guys still want them at this point, I can work out the specifics with the seller. Keep in mind, he said they only had 20 sets, 10/tinted, 10/clear. Some people may have been turned off on the purchase so it may work out better that way anyways.

Also, if anyone is interested in retrofitting them to make a prototype, (Bruce or nigxdoof) I have a set ready to go.
Let take this over to PM now and see if I can get my hands on one of these lights. I have no idea what the shipping costs will be like from the US to the UK. Also I think I might need only one of these to play with first.

Just removing the bulbs will give you errors and also the brake light won't be bright enough then.
So the bulbs are dual filiment, right (dim when running lights, bright when braking)? Sounds like what's needed is a retrofit to a single filiment socket/bulb that is off for running lights and bright for brakes. Then, a resistor for the running light circuit would prevent codes. Comments?

You've been away from moding electrics on cars for a long time I don't think anyone uses dual filament lights anymore. The intensity is altered by the LCM.

Yikes, I guess so. That makes things a tad more complicated then, but you already knew that...

Thats the thing. Most people think I'm selling them a bit of wire to connect their lights to the cars. They don't appreciate the amount of stuff going on in those little control modules. I'm actually shocked that the manufacturers of these lights didn't build a similar circuit inside the lights themselves.

Agreed, if the GB price is good I would still buy them. Some were apparently expecting OEM lights for $200, but let's face it, they do look pretty good and are 1/4 the price of OEM and how many outside this forum would know there's a difference? Or a difference between pre-LCI and LCI tails in the first place?
I like them, do they look exactly like OEM? No, but they look good - I wasn't expecting OEM for $200, some semblance of realism needs to be maintained.

I thought of something else - When I install these tonight, I will (likely) be the only car in the Dallas/Fort Worth area uniquely different due to these lights. Add my HID fogs and V2.0 angel eyes, and I think I'll be one-of-a-kind for awhile.

I'm not looking to be different from other E60's actually, I'm more about what looks good on the car, period. Just a bonus being unique.

I just recently put LEDS turn signals for my OEM tails, and now have to take it off and put these on. heh. Kind of bitter sweet for me.

But I definitely am going to take apart the lights, change that amber to white and fix up those rods and hopefully figure out how to fix the brake light problem.
