I take the pulsed feed and convert that to a continuous one and try to get as close to 12V continuous that I can. On these lights I need to get very close to 12V for the LED rods to start looking nice because of the poorer plastic used in the rods. But on the OEM lights I don't need to as much. I actually think it probably was a design decision not to make the rods stretch all the way around because they just couldn't figure out how to keep the rods illuminated for that length. You can see it even now it starts off bright from the side but then the light fade very quickly as it travels down the tub.
Very nice, Bruce. Do the rods take the (near) full 12V or did you have to cut it back with resistor(s)?

Feeding it with the full near continuous 12v. There is no point cutting it back with resistors because then you are not acheiving anything. I've got my sample connectors in and they are exactly what I need to make up the first batch of prototype cables for these lights.

I'm going to make up a list of people who are firmly interested in this. The extremely reduced price is only for this first prototype batch which will be ?135 + p&p provided I get atleast 10 people interested. I will be taking a deposit of ?35 from all those who want a set and delivery of your set should be within 3 weeks. Everything will be completely plug and play and the two main connectors to the car and the lights will be OEM BMW ones.

Deposits can be paid at http://c.1asphost.com/mironics/V6Sonar.html

Careful everyone...the price is 135 GBP + shipping now, but he'll likely reduce the price by over $100 USD and those of you who purchased the cables only 2-3 days beforehand will be screwed.

Top notch products, don't get me wrong. But something doesn't sit well with a customer when prices are drastically reduced and not honored on a transaction less than 72 hours afterwards.

250 for aftermarket tail light
200 for cable

Totally 450.
Is it worth ?

I go for OEM.

Ok...

I didn't realize we were debating OEM vs aftermarket. I must have missed that debate in your head.

I just said its a unique mod. What you do with your money is really up to you. No one is FORCING you to buy this.

Whats the point of modding your car if you basically make it look like every other car on this forum.. unless that was your point..

Seems like a lot of money for replica lights that don't look anywhere near as good as lci lights.

I think we are all going to have to face the fact that getting LCI or even close to LCI is going to be expensive.
