After spending most of today I can finally tell you that I have solution that will make these lights very nice. The design is completely flawed but it can be sorted with most of the solution being plug and play.
Who's interested. They won't be as expensive as the OEM cables because I will be reusing as much of the electronics that already comes on the these lights.
Please send me a PM with your email address so that I know what the interested is like.

I'll show pictures soon. The weather has been so bad the last few days that I've not had chance to go and work with the car a lot. I did want to show you guys the difference between OEM and these lights but I figured I wouldn't do that.
But the difference between my modified lights and the way they came from Taiwan are incredible too.
What I've managed to do is
1. Make the LED rods nice and bright.
2. Stop the Brake and Tail lights from working until you press the Brake.
Just these two changes have transformed these lights. I could make even more changes but the manufacturers have sealed one of the circuit boards inside the lights.
Oh and BTW if anyone has installed these lights without the foam gasket please remove them and get your seller to send you some or put your OEM ones on. If the lights are not sealed to the body well water can get into the boot very easily and one side you have the battery - believe me you don't want water getting there.

That is GREAT news Bruce, also can't wait to see pics!!! Luckily I did use the gaskets that came with my lights I figured they were included for a reason.
